Instead of the crappy 'universal' O2 sensor, went for a Ford 302 sensor and the corresponding connector. Same Bosh sensor, just different wires and $40 savings.
Wired and sealed that connector so nobody hooks up the sensor to the idle control. You gotta run the car for a bit, then let it cool down. have lunch. Then the sensor should come out, if you used the good one with the thermal paste last time.
I did.
As easy as a sparkplug. Except for the pain. It's hot in there.
